Views only turn into customers when the video shows what you sell and the next step takes one tap. Show the product being used, bring it in early, and give each platform a call to action that works there. The examples below come from founder interviews collected on GTM Sauce.

Show the product in use

A video where your product is the subject converts better than a meme or a passing mention. A couples app measured it: They stopped posting memes even after one got over 300,000 views (source).

Bring it in early

Show or name the product in the first 15 to 30 seconds. One app moved the mention earlier in each new video until views started to drop, and settled at 20 to 30 seconds (source).

Give a one-tap next step

Every extra step loses people. Use the shortest path each platform allows:

Fit the call to action to each platform

A call to action written for one app reads wrong on another. “Comment GUIDE and I’ll DM you” does nothing on YouTube or LinkedIn. In the workflow, open Settings › Destinations and set it per destination (Captions):
  • Remove comment / DM prompts deletes lines like “Comment GUIDE and I’ll DM you the link”.
  • Add custom text adds a call to action that works on that platform, such as the product name or a link.
  • Rewrite caption with AI rewrites the whole caption in the platform’s style.

Check what converts

  • Read the comments. Comments asking “what’s the app?” or “where do I get this?” mean the video sells. One viral slideshow without them drew 120,000 views and 8 or 9 trials (source).
  • Compare signups per format, not views. A smaller video that converts beats a viral one that doesn’t.
  • Use a different link per platform, such as ?ref=tiktok and ?ref=instagram, so your own analytics show which platform sends customers. Compare it with views per platform in Analytics.
