Skip this if the account already gets steady views. Accounts with a posting history and healthy views don’t need a warm-up. If you’re copying an established TikTok to a new Instagram or YouTube account, only the new account needs one.
Why new accounts start slow
New accounts with no posts and no activity get few views however they post, including by hand. Across 93 YouTube channels posting through PostOnce in October 2026:
Only Shorts at least 3 days old were counted. The newest channels are a small group, and channels with more videos are also older and more practiced, so read this as “expect a slow start”, not as an exact rule.
The platforms say ranking depends on how people respond to each post. TikTok says follower count and past hits aren’t direct ranking factors, and that a person’s first set of likes, comments, and replays starts their recommendations. Using the account like a real person does two things: your own feed fills with your niche, so you see what works there, and the account looks like a person, not a bot that appeared yesterday and started posting.
The warm-up, day by day
1
Day 1: set up the account
Add a profile photo, a name and a bio that say what the account is about. Use the account on your phone, on the network you normally use.
- Instagram: switch to a Creator or Business account now. PostOnce needs one to connect (Instagram).
- YouTube: verify the channel with a phone number at youtube.com/verify so it can upload videos longer than 15 minutes (YouTube).
- Facebook: create the Facebook Page you’ll post to. PostOnce posts to Pages, not personal profiles (Facebook).
2
Days 2 to 7: use it like a viewer
Spend about 15 minutes a day in the app:
- Watch videos in your niche to the end. Skip anything outside it.
- Like, comment on and save posts you’d want to make yourself.
- Follow 5 to 10 accounts in your niche a day.
- Reply to comments and messages you get.
3
Days 5 to 7: post a few times
Post one video or image a day in your niche, in the app or with Create Post if your PostOnce plan is active. How you post doesn’t change reach (Reach and views). On TikTok, Send as draft lets you finish the video in the app and add a trending sound (TikTok).

When views are steady: add it to a workflow
Once each new post gets views in the hundreds rather than single digits, add the account as a destination in a workflow. Keep the gaps between posts by turning on Set time between posts (Timing and spacing).
How long to warm up
Platforms don’t publish a warm-up period. Scheduling tools and growth guides recommend anywhere from 3 days to 4 weeks. We recommend:
Go by the results, not the calendar. If your first posts still get almost no views, keep warming up and posting by hand for a few more days.
Signs the account isn’t ready
- New posts get 0 to 100 views several days in a row.
- The platform shows a warning or restriction. Check Instagram’s Account Status or the Restrictions column in YouTube Studio.
- Actions such as following or liking are blocked with “Try again later”.
What to avoid
- Posting dozens of videos on day 1. Spread your back catalog out with Set time between posts, or repost older content a few at a time.
- Scrolling outside your niche on the new account, or reusing an old account full of unrelated posts and follows.
- Mass following, liking or commenting, by hand or with apps.
- Posting other people’s content. Instagram leaves accounts that mostly repost others’ work out of recommendations. Copying your own videos to other platforms is fine (Reach and views).
Questions
Does posting through PostOnce hurt a new account?
Does posting through PostOnce hurt a new account?
No. PostOnce posts through each platform’s official posting API, and Instagram has said scheduling tools don’t affect reach. A new account gets few views however it posts. See Reach and views.
Can I connect the account to PostOnce before the warm-up ends?
Can I connect the account to PostOnce before the warm-up ends?
Yes. Connecting doesn’t post anything. Only add the account to a workflow when it’s ready, or pause the workflow until then.
Does an account I already use need a warm-up?
Does an account I already use need a warm-up?
No, as long as it posts regularly and gets views. An old account that hasn’t posted in months benefits from a few days of use and manual posts first.
