Why it happens
- You changed your password, or the platform ran a security check.
- The platform’s access simply expired. Personal LinkedIn connections do this regularly.
- You removed PostOnce from the platform’s connected apps, or didn’t approve every permission.
- For Facebook: you connected again and left a Page unticked.
How you’ll know
- A banner in PostOnce says “1 account needs reconnection (workflow might not work properly)”, and the account turns amber.
- PostOnce emails you right away, then again after 3, 7 and 14 days if it’s still not fixed. These emails are always sent, even if you turned off other emails.
- Failed posts show “Please reconnect account”.
- For personal LinkedIn profiles, PostOnce emails you 7 days before the connection expires.
What happens in the meantime
Workflows skip the affected account and keep publishing to your other accounts. A workflow whose source account needs reconnecting stops picking up new posts, and can’t be switched on until you reconnect.Reconnect
1
Open Accounts
Go to Accounts.
2
Click Connect next to the platform
There’s no separate reconnect button. Click Connect for the same platform.
3
Sign in to the same account
Sign in to the same account and approve every permission. Reconnecting an account that needs it doesn’t use another account slot.
4
Retry failed posts
New posts publish again automatically. Posts that failed while the account was disconnected need a Retry.
- Facebook: select every Page again, including ones that still work. Facebook replaces your previous selection.
- Bluesky: create a new app password in Bluesky and use it.
- Threads: make sure the right profile is signed in on threads.net first.
- Instagram: if Instagram doesn’t return to PostOnce, click Connect Instagram once more to get the full login page.
- X: reconnect after subscribing to X Premium so PostOnce allows longer posts.
